This was delivered damaged. The screws were not drill properly for the top of the lid to fit. Also, a piece on the control panel was broken. The motor sounded like it was in a bind. I am returning it. This is the 2nd new one returned!

Purchased September 2 and was supposed to receive September 24. Received like a month later than Expected. Definitely not built as well as my previous two Kenmore trash compactor does not compact as well. And much louder. Had my first two at 12 and 13 years respectively do not expect to get more than five years out of this one at best. Does not have the extra pack feature that I like in my other two. Definitely would not recommend.

Nice appliance, a couple of months old. More complicated to run than older model. Somewhat complicated to run, and unfortunately does not have actual drying cycle.

I bought this a ongth ago and loved it. Our other one broke and we tried to live with just a trash can but realized it was a pain. So we ordered this trash compactor and we are so happy we got another one. This compactor is quieter than our previous one.

I am not very happy with this trash compacter. It replaced a much older Whirlpool trash compacter but this one sticks out from my cabinet about 2 1/2 inches. The real short coming is the Ram (this crushes the trash) only goes down about 2 inched below the top of the trash container. Once filled with crushed trash, the system does not have the clearance to add a 2-qt plastic drink container and get the door to roll back in for crushing. In fact, I could not get it to close with a 16 oz Gatorade container. I emptied about 6 pounds of semi-crushed empty cans and plastic containers. The machine will not flatten them as the RAM does not push down very far. Overall, a waste of my money! Very disappointing.

This replaced a Whirlpool compactor that was installed in 1988. It lasted 37 years. So, if this on lasts that long, we'll be happy until I'm 114.

Installed 2 months ago. Excellent operation and much quieter than the 31yr old whirlpool it replaced. Just slipped right into the slot I pulled the old one from. Very easy installation!!

We got this compactor to replace a vintage Whirlpool compactor that was in place, when we bought our home years ago. Was a perfect fit for the existing opening. It works great, but unfortunately, it has what I know is a safety feature, in that you have to press the power button each time, before pressing the start button. An extra step, that I wish this senior couple could override or bypass. I had hoped that maybe the new unit would have had some improvements to help muffle the sound a little better, but it's just a loud as the old vintage unit was, with a slight difference in tone. BUT, it IS a trash compactor & we were sort of used to the noise anyway, so it's livable.

This replaced a 12 year old unit. I matched the model available as close as I could based off the current ones available. This unit does not feel or sound as good as the unit it replaced.

COMPARING THE TWO, BOTH COMPACT MY TRASH HOWEVER I DON'T FEEL THAT A WHIRPOOL
COMPACTOR IS AS STURDILY BUILT AND MINUS A PLACE TO HOLD THE BAG DOWN ON EITHER SIDE.NOR A PLACE FOR A DEODERIZER.

Works great. Clips to hold bags are fantastic. Easy to get full bags out. Absolutely HATE the push button controls. Off centered or something. Very difficult to work. Would be a 5 star rating if not for the control pad

Have had it about a week and it seems to be working well. When we opened the box we found the foot pedal was broken and called Whirlpool right away. They were easy to deal with and said they would send a replacement part in 10 days or so. We have not gotten it yet but anticipate getting it soon.

5 months old and buttons are chipping off ALREADY. This was a real concern for me as my 1st Whirlpool trash compactor did this after 5 YEARS ,not 5 months. It is also noisy and does not have the ability to stay in the compact mode.

We bought this trash compactor two months ago. The unit does not open more than one inch when the pedal is pressed and has to be pulled out. Similarly, it does not close smoothly and has to be pushed hard to close it. The performance of this unit is inferior to the Kenmore trash compactor we previously had.

It is flimsy and not worth the money we paid for it. My old compactor is 10 times better quality than this new one is. The old one cost 600.00 this new one cost over a thousand dollars.

Was installed and doesnt work. Control panel is faulty and pushes way in when trying to push start button. Contacted installer. Gonna mark as defective and re order a new one.Paid over 1000 and waited a month to get then it doesnt work. Needs push buttons instead of a slick panel control.

This was a replacement for our GE profile one. Should have had it repaired as your product is a cheap imitation. First off, the user manual doesn't match the product, secondly it is flimsy, and lastly noisy.

Did not work, spent a lot of money for a brand new machine that I now have to wait to get serviced. This piece of junk was delivered 3/8 and I have not been able to use it and am still waiting service as Home Depot nor whirlpool will replace it without service first. I am highly disappointed and will not be buying another whirlpool product again.

From the beginning we had trouble with the start button. After less than six months it would not engage at all. After contacting Whirlpool, it has now been 2.5 months and I am suppose to get a replacement delivered this week. Can't say I would recommend

The measurements on the actual appliance were larger than specifications listed on the spec sheet so our space was to small. Had to do major construction work. Also the pedal to open the door at the bottom is cheap plastic and can already tell it won't last. Not sure I like the fact it won't compact until at least half full! Trash bags have to be special ordered...what is with that?

We are happy to have a compactor again, our last one lasted over 21+ years, took about 45 days to get the new one. It is a different style panel and we can't find the extra pack like the old one. Again overall great compactor and brand.
