Clunking sound

Yz1234 8/3/2026

I've had this dryer for less than six months, and it has been making a loud clunking noise. At first, we thought it might be loose change or clothing buttons, but the noise continues with every load, even when drying just a couple of towels. A technician has been out three times, and the dryer is still making the same noise. It's loud enough that we can hear it from the living room, and we can't run it at night because it disturbs our children, whose bedrooms are in the same hallway as the laundry room. The technician stated that there is nothing mechanically wrong with the dryer because it runs quietly when empty. However, as soon as even a few items are placed inside, the loud clunking noise starts again. He advised me that my next step would be to contact customer service. Given that the dryer is less than six months old and the issue remains unresolved after three service visits, I would appreciate assistance in finding a permanent resolution.

Disposable garbage

Selling It Off 7/8/2026

This product should not be purchased. The quality and functionality are a total fail. The sheet metal is so thin the door warps all over, the logo bent and fell off. It sounds like a tank when in use. The unit has a leak from the steam fitting under the sheet metal somewhere. The tumbler has failed is now awaiting service and parts that are not available. And not under warranty. The unit has been used maybe 50 times in 13 months. Regretfully purchased new.

Refresh cycle leaks water

KrKos 4/22/2026

We specifically purchased this dryer because it has a refresh cycle. The idea is that you can throw your wrinkled clothing in the dryer and use this cycle to refresh the clothing without having to go through an entire wash. The first time I used it, I had a huge puddle of water on my brand-new expensive wood floor. I called for repair and after looking at the machine, the repairman said it was defective and we were given a new one. The new machine did the same thing. We contacted Whirlpool and they sent one of their repairmen out to investigate. He said that the machine will always leak water because there is not a proper seal around the door. He advised us to just put a towel down when we use the refresh cycle. Obviously for the price we paid for the dryer this is entirely unacceptable so we will just have to use the dryer without using the refresh cycle. We have been happy Whirlpool customers for a long time. My family is from the area and I know many people who had long careers with Whirlpool so I am extremely disappointed with this service. Don't waste your money with this machine.

Had to replace my 15 year old Cabriolet gas dryer and washer....sadness!!! The quality and features of the new appliances is nothing like the Whirlpool appliances I replaced. Dryer door has no glass...door is flimsy and hard to close. Will really take some getting used to!!! Lack of timing read out....think maybe I should have purchased an LG!!!

Nice Dryer - not the best

audge 2/19/2026

I have had my dryer for a week, and it dried nicely, has multiple settings that I like. Couple things I don't like - the door latch seems a little cheap. When using the timed dryer setting, it would be nice to know how much time has gone by while drying.

Gas dryer

12345 12/31/2025

I bought a mew gas dryer with steam function and a matching washer from Home Depot. When I tried to use the steam function it sprayed water in bin, all over the door and some water ran down and puddled on the floor. Home Depot brought a replacement dryer and it did the something. The are scheduled to deliver another new dryer February 2 when they get one back in stock. I was going to upgrade to a more expensive set but Home Depot did not have a matching washer in stock.

Wolfie 12/27/2025

I recently purchased this dryer. I'm not happy that the door opens sideways and that it is loud when closing the door. The dryer is somewhat loud. The wrinkle free feature doesn't leave the clothes wrinkle free. I have to use the steam sensor which is an excellent feature. The filter isn't easy to remove and lint seems to escape from it.

So far, so good. Bought this for no reason other than the lint trap is on the outside of the clothes area. I'm very pleased with all other aspects as well. It's not too deep so I'm not breaking my back reaching to the back of the dryer for articles of clothing.

Badly Made Dryer

Sad RT 11/8/2025

What a disappointment. This dryer advertises itself as a Steam Refresh appliance, not true. Put a Queen size sheet set and three pillowcases in dryer and set Steam Refresh setting. At end of cycle I had water all over floor in front of dryer. I called customer service and explained to them what happened and they told me that it's normal. They said it had to be a full load to work. Under what scenario would you put a full load in dryer to refresh clothing? Nowhere in the advertising does it mention that a FULL load is needed to refresh garments. Also no qualification that water may leak on floor. Who's responsible for ruining a wood or laminate floor? Owned a Maytag Bravos for the past twelve years without a problem with steam refresh cycle. Had a repairman out to check the unit and they said they had multiple complaints and it was a production problem. Only reason I give it one star is that it drys well so far.

Disappointing dryer owner

Bummed 10/18/2025

Home Depot in my area does not display the dryers on their showroom floors, only the washing machines. I found a washing machine I likes so I just ordered the matching dryer Had this dryer been available to check out on the floor I would not have bought it. It feels chinsy, cheap and does not feel like the door will withstand too much opening and closing. The lint receptacle is on top of the dryer and every time you empty the lint dust covers the top of the dryer. The overall look of the dryer is nice but when you run a load it is so loud it disrupts the household, even with the laundry room door closed. The matching washer is even louder and more disruptive to daily activities. The dryer did dry my clothes but it seemed to take extra time despite being on the warmest setting.

Lint catcher sufficiently fitting snugly??

Glenn 9/29/2025

Replaced a very old whirlpool dryer with this higher capacity dryer. I am surprised by leakage of lint past the screen..We will have to buy a narrow LONG vacuum attachment to ensure lint does not bypass the screen end and clog up at the 90 degree vertical turn to the duct hose.

I bought this a month ago and it™€™s not doing the job it™€™s supposed to contact Whirlpool they sent somebody to look at it and he said it™€™s not getting hot enough to get the wrinkles out and whirlpool wouldn™€™t do nothing about it. We paid a lot of money for this machine and it™€™s not doing the job it™€™s supposed to. And we also bought washer with it And the washer wasn™€™t working right and the repair guy had to order part for a brand new washer took them four tries till they got it right, but supposedly they fixed it.
